Stelarc
Greek-Australian performance artist - Stelarc focuses on the extending the capabilities of the human body. He stated that there is a difference between science-fiction writers and artists like him. The writers just speculate and Sterlac focuses on simulations. He wants to experience how it is to have the third hand, possessing implants inside a body or how to be activated by means of the electric stimuli. During his performances he wants to present the new situation when the new technology influences users and can control and “steer” human bodies. He does not want to enhance to create a hybrid of human body and machines but to create a project of a new body which is extended thanks to capabilities and features of different objects, devices. This cyber-body is better developed because of added features and capabilities and is the way of achieving a “perfect” body.
